Volunteering At Ananda Seva

Living creatures are nourished by food, and food is nourished by rain; rain itself is the water of life, which comes from selfless worship and service.  – Bhagavad Gita 3.14

Seva Sundays at Santa Rosa Mission

Every other Sunday of the month, come volunteer at Ananda Kamalalaya, the Ananda Seva Mission in Santa Rosa, California.  Check our calendar for dates and times or contact us about seva.

Seva Sundays are a great way to build spiritual community and practice karma yoga – yoga of selfless service, also known as seva.  According to the Bhagavad Gita, karma yoga  is perfection in action– action without attachment to the outcome, giving up the fruits of the action to God or to the service of humanity.  Join volunteers for a busy day performing acts of service with a focus on mindful intention and devotional service.

With  3.5 acres, the Ananda Kamalalaya mission offers a variety of service opportunities.   Each season brings new focuses on gardening, landscaping, construction, property maintenance and composting – and a chance to get some sun  outdoors.  Sevites also help clean the meditation room in preparation for Sunday’s Dharmachakra, cook Sattvic Vegitarian meals and clean shared spaces at the mission. There are also many opportunities for people with computer, writing or photography skills. The day starts and ends with a group meditation and includes a vegetarian lunch.

Seva Sundays are open to all – come join us for a day of service and devotion at beautiful Ananda Kamalalaya in Santa Rosa.
